Now you might have noticed that you cannot find a bunch of certifications, doctorates, degrees or any such thing listed under the names of our staff, nor will you see this on business cards etcetera. HUH?! WHAT?! WHY?! Yeah, soooooo. . . This too, is for a purpose. . .
The Lord clearly states it here in Matthew 23:8: "But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you all are brothers. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ."
One of our CORE VALUES at Hearts Can Change is humility! So this is VERY important to us. . .
Matthew 23:11-12: "But the greatest among you shall be your servant., Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted."
His word also says Ephesians 2:10 "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.", and so we focus less on being qualified by worldly certifications and other man-made concepts; we do however hold our leaders to standards as set out by the biblical qualifications as set out in Titus and 1 Timothy. . .
We believe in the Word of God and the power of His testimony in our lives, so if you are struggling, we set out to match you with someone who may either experientially understand the struggle you are in, who has experienced freedom from that very issue, or we may walk with you and trust in God's word and the Holy Spirit to create the change in you, through reading His word and by the practice of repentance motivated by the sincere desire for a heart change.
We like to follow in 1 Corinthians 2:5 "so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God." So let's not try and steer this ship! For He alone is worthy!
Our leadership team is dedicated to daily practices of bible reading, communal prayer, repentance and fasting. Everyone within the organization is actively involved in some level of discipleship training, we believe that as we learn we can share with others. We choose to share directly from His word so that things don't get misconstrued. Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
